James Baldwin - Expressing Words for the Voiceless. This paper discusses the novel by James Baldwin Go Tell it on the Mountain. This novel was an important work because it expressed the voice of those who could not express themselves within the American Black community in the 1950s. The novel contributed to the social consciousness of the nation, as it raised certain sensitive issues regarding the Black experience in white America.
